RiboBoost M refuels your cellular engines for efficient heart function

ATP is the fuel our bodies run on. The production of ATP inside the mitochondria of our cells depends on many things, including sufficient levels of CoQ10 and ribose. Ribose, one of the building blocks of ATP, is a simple 5-carbon sugar that drives ATP synthesis and recycling.

While the body makes ribose, the energy needs of the cell often surpass the amount of ribose available, especially in the tissues that work the hardest, such as the heart and other large muscles. This is especially true for those with heart health issues or for serious athletes who push their muscles to limit.

  • Under conditions of restricted blood and oxygen flow, such as poor circulation or after intense exercise, ATP production has been shown to decrease. Studies have shown it may take more than 3 days for depleted muscle energy levels to return to normal, and up to 10 days for full cardiac recovery.1
  • Depletion of ATP stores may dramatically impact cellular integrity, free-radical balance, and normal cell and tissue metabolism. This may result in fatigue and muscle soreness and stiffness.2
  • Ribose is made in a pathway called the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP). Once formed, ribose can be made into glucose or into other molecules, including ATP. The PPP pathway is slow and inefficient in the heart and skeletal muscle tissues. Ribose supplementation bypasses this step and enables ATP pools, and the energy potential of the cell, to be rebuilt more quickly.3
  • Two double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized studies assessed the effects of ribose supplementation on cardiac functioning and quality of life. The first study found that those receiving ribose supplementation had improved heart and physical functioning.
  • Ribose also plays a role in recovery from intense exercise. Research has examined the effects of ribose supplementation on cardiac stress during exercise. It was discovered that consuming ribose immediately before and after exercise resulted in a reduced heart rate, less free radical production, and lower cardiac stress compared to those not taking ribose.4,5

RiboBoost M may be beneficial when paired with Coenzyme Q10

  • CoQ10 is an antioxidant that is needed to make electrons go down the transport chain for ATP production. So while CoQ10 can enhance ATP production, ribose supports ATP regeneration after periods of depletion from exercise or cardiac stress. This combination may allow for optimal energy generation and maintenance.

Taking ribose before and after exercise may also help reduce oxidative stress

  • In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, participants consumed 7 grams of ribose immediately before and after a 25-minute cycle ride at twice their lactate threshold. Those taking ribose had MDA (malondialdehyde, an indicator of lipid peroxidation) levels below pre-exercise levels and reduced plasma glutathione levels, which shows that supplementation combated the exercise-induced free-radical generation.6

How do I know I am choosing the best supplements?
