Walking Club Check-In: Ready to Walk Away from It All!

walking...Welcome, or welcome back, to the Dr. Sinatra Walking Club. If you missed the "official introduction," you can see it here. Each Saturday, I post a new Walking Club Check-in, where you can post your minutes walked, the number of times you walked, or miles by leaving a comment.

Today, I want to talk about when motivation is no problem at all...

Some days I'm tired, or the weather's hot and sticky, and walking feels more like a chore than a fun experience. But, today, I can't wait to walk. In fact, while I'm sitting here writing this blog posts, I can hear the birds outside my window and feel the cool breezes blowing through the curtains--and I'm more than ready to get my walking shoes on...and head out the door!

But I need to confess that it's not just the weather that has me chomping at the bit to walk... 

It has also been a very stressful, busy week--filled with lots of deadlines, pressures, and for whatever reason heavy post-Memorial Day traffic on the roads. There's nothing like sitting through traffic light, after traffic light, to make you wish that your commute was walkable.

Plus, the weather has been unusually hot and humid this week! The type of weather where more than 5 minutes outside makes you crave air conditioning. So, my walks have been unusually brief. But I know that once I get out there today, and take a brisk walk in the cool, fresh air--all of those stresses of the week will literally melt away.

Now it's your turn:

1. Do you have those days that you just can't wait to walk? Those ones where you feel like you can't put your shoes on and run out the door fast enough? Or, that the stresses of the week make you wish you could literally walk away from it all ;-)
