DHA for Healthy Eyes

You know that the omega-3 essential fatty acid DHA is great for heart health, but did you know that it also helps support your eyes?

DHA is the predominant essential fatty acid found in the retina, and some studies suggest a possible association between macular health and high consumption of omega-3 fatty acids from fish or fish oil. Additionally, omega-3 fatty acids may help with tear production.

Although some fish, such as tuna, can be a source of DHA, but it’s difficult to get enough of it through diet alone (many fish are richer in the essential fatty acid EPA). Therefore, I recommend supplementation—specifically with the marine oil Calamarine.® Calamarine is especially high in DHA, and I like it so much that I use it to formulate all of my omega-3 supplements.
