Fresh Tomato Salsa

A Heart-Healthy Sides & Sauces Recipe

 

  • The lycopene in tomatoes protects against heart disease and cancer.2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped red onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and chill several hours before serving.

Makes 2 servings.
