When it comes to improving your health, you probably don’t think about your liver. But you should, and here’s why.
The liver is a vital part of your body’s natural detoxification system. Along with the kidneys, skin, lungs, and digestive tract, your liver helps filter waste and toxins out of your blood. Some of that waste is a natural byproduct of metabolism, but it also includes the many, many chemicals—especially medications—and environmental pollutants we come into contact with on a daily basis. It’s a big job, no doubt about it.
You can help your liver by eating organic foods and drinking filtered water (these actions reduce the number of chemicals we consume), and by supplementing with nutrients that support the body’s natural process for neutralizing and eliminating toxins.
