Hi and Happy Friday,
I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Karen. I'm a colleague of Dr. Sinatra, and he asked me to form the new Dr. Sinatra Walking Club...which I'm very excited about!
As Dr. Sinatra often says, there is no other lifestyle modification with such immediate and long-lasting benefits for your health and well-being as exercise, and walking is one of the most effective, and sustainable, types of exercise you can do. It strengthens your heart and circulatory system, builds stamina, relieves stress, and improves your state of mind. But, as you know, it's always easier to stay motivated to exercise if you have someone to do it with...
So, how does the Walking Club work?
* The Club will officially launch on April 2, 2011. Just come to Dr. Sinatra's blog each Saturday for our official Walking Club check-in. You can log in your minutes walked, the number of times you walked, or miles--each Saturday, or at any time during the week by leaving a comment.
* Each Saturday, you'll also find new information about walking: as well as motivational tips!
* The Club is open to beginners, as well as seasoned walkers: all you need is a pair of shoes and a desire to get moving!
