Lower High Cholesterol Levels With Juicing
Get more cholesterol-lowering fiber into your diet by juicing regularly
It’s a fact that a high-fiber diet, like my Pan-Asian Mediterranean (PAM) diet, will help lower your cholesterol levels. But if you occasionally have a hard time eating enough whole fruits and vegetables to meet your daily fiber quota (at least 30 grams), consider juicing. Juiced fruits and veggies can still be a great source of fiber.
Here are the ingredients to juice together to make my favorite cholesterol-lowering juice:
- One-third of a bag of spinach
- One-half of a bunch of parsley
- 4 to 6 carrots
- One-half inch of ginger root
- One garlic clove
- One apple or half of a red beet
When my patients drink this tasty juice daily, their cholesterol levels come tumbling down. One person lowered his cholesterol over a four-week period from 300 mg/dL to 190 mg/dL with this concoction alone.
