Healthy Heart Nutrition: Winning Waldorf Salmon Salad

Eating as much salmon as I do, I love to collect great salmon recipes. I also love salad recipes. The recipe below combines salad and salmon into one great meal.

In fact, this fantastic salmon-salad recipe has all the omega-3s you want for heart health, plus the low-calorie and low-fat requirements needed to keep your waistline trim. And you can't beat the taste of this heart healthy recipe! winning waldorf salmon salad

Winning Waldorf Salmon-Salad Recipe 
(Makes 4 servings)

2 (6 oz.) wild salmon fillets, cooked and flaked
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
¼ tsp. pepper
¼ tsp. dried thyme
½ tsp. salt
1 stalk celery, diced
1 large apple, chopped
½ cup walnuts, chopped

For dressing, blend mayonnaise, yogurt, lemon juice, pepper, thyme, and salt in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, combine salmon, celery, apples, and walnuts. Stir dressing into salad and serve.
