Me and my old Norwegian Elkhound, Charlie, who was 14 years old at the time.Me and my old Norwegian Elkhound, Charlie, who was 14 years old at the time.Unless you’re brand new to me and my mission for integrative, optimum heart health, you’ll know that for that past year or so, I’ve been particularly excited about the discovery of Earthing, also called “grounding,” as a new treatment modality.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the concept, simply put, Earthing maintains health and governs the intricate mechanisms that make our bodies work—just like plugging a lamp into a power socket makes it light up.

Since I first wrote about this concept, stories about experiences with Earthing have been pouring in from readers. They describe improved sleep, reduced pain and inflammation, fewer arrhythmias, and a host of other improvements. But this one was a first: Earthing for pets!

One of my Facebook fans posted this on my wall:

“Hey Dr. Sinatra, I have started Earthing with my Earthing pad recently, and my cat won’t stay off me. He loves it, too. He’s about as bad hanging on me as when I got attuned for my Reiki classes. Looks like I’m going to have to buy him one of his own.”

Even though I am totally tuned into the health needs of my own pets, I hadn’t considered the possibility of Earthing being beneficial for pets as well, but it makes perfect sense! It seems logical that animals would crave Mother Earth’s energy to balance their own energy fields, just like us.

Maybe I should tell Clint Ober to develop a pet Earthing line. I can see it now: dog beds, cat trees, horse blankets. The possibilities are endless!

What’s been your experience with Earthing?

Have you found your pet hogging your Earthing pad, too?
